I. Difficulty in Waiting 2:12-13

A.  Proper Concern – not sinful Anxiety
  1. The Corinthians correction of doctrinal errors

  2. Offering issues – what they had neglected was to heed Paul's admonition about “laying up on the first day of the week”

  3. Titus was went to them as Paul's emissary

  4. Titus informed Paul about the false prophets seeking to turn the hearts of the Corinthians away from their Apostle.

  5. The False Apostles were trying to say, “Paul doesn't care about you,
    that's why he hasn't come to visit.”

    B. The Open Door in Troas

    Col. 4:3 – Asked prayer “that God would open to us a door for the Word”
    

Acts 14:27 -- Paul explained that God had “opened a door of faith”

Rev. 3:8 -- Christ tells the Church in Philadelphia – “behold I set before thee an open door which no man can shut”.

C. Paul's co-worker, Titus

II. Triumph in Christ 2:14

The picture is of the Roman Triumphal Parade. Romans 5:10 “When we were
enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His son...”

III. The Sweet Smelling Savor 2:14b-16

“Who is sufficient for these things?” is answered in 3:5-6.
