Keeping The Sabbath Day Holy - Fourth Commandment

Ask 100 Christians how to spend the Lord's Day and you will get 100 different answers. Much confusion would be avoided if we understood that resting and keeping the day holy are inseparable: We rest by keeping the day holy.

We are commanded by God in the Bible to exercise dominion -- to rule as His vice-regents -- over all the earth. This presupposes the victory of Christ on this earth, in human history, before His return. We are to prepare all nations to come to Christ (Isa. 49:23, among many other places). The Sabbath is the symbol of the re-creation of the whole of the universe. The very gates of hell will be flattened by the Army of Christ. How could it possibly be otherwise?
