Samson: A Broken Vow

Of the three strands of the Nazirite vow (not to eat/drink of the grape; not to cut his hair; and not to touch a dead body) Samson had broken two. The final vow to be broken was the cutting of his hair. With this last strand broken, we watch as his life collapses.

I. Exposition:

A. The harlot of Gaza (vv. 1-3).

B. Delilah (vv. 4-22).

II. A warning: keep your vows to God and men.

Note the grace of v. 22. Samson's hair begins to grow.
