A God-centered perspective on generosity

Paul begins by noting, 'And God is able...(v. 8).' He offers here a God-centered perspective on generosity. If the church at Corinth is to contribute to the collection Paul is gathering it will be because God moves them to do so. All of our 'good works' have their origin in God. To think of our lives and any good we might do apart from God would be like considering the solar system apart from the sun.
