Psalm 24: The King of Glory and the Call to Holiness
Series Reading the Bible Daily
Psalm 24 lifts our eyes from the Shepherd of Psalm 23 to the King of Glory who reigns over all creation.
In this episode of Reading the Bible Daily with Dave, Dave Jenkins walks verse-by-verse through Psalm 24 and highlights four central truths:
• The earth belongs to the Lord (Psalm 24:1–2)
• The call to holiness before a holy God (Psalm 24:3–4)
• The blessing given to those who seek Him (Psalm 24:5–6)
• The triumphant entrance of the King of Glory (Psalm 24:7–10)
This psalm likely accompanied the ark's ascent to Jerusalem, celebrating God's kingship and covenant presence among His people. Its ultimate fulfillment is found in Jesus Christ — the only One with clean hands and a pure heart, the conquering King who ascended in righteousness and brings His people near by grace.
Key Cross References:
