Fishers of Men

This sermon explores the beginning of Jesus' public ministry in Galilee and His calling of the first disciples. Jesus launched His ministry, not in Jerusalem, but among the "compromised" Galileans, fulfilling prophecy and demonstrating the worldwide scope of redemption. The calling of Peter, Andrew, James, and John illustrates Christ's sovereign authority in choosing His followers and transforming ordinary laborers into witnesses of the kingdom. While the apostles had a unique calling, all Christians are called to be "fishers of men" where God has placed them, living as faithful witnesses through word and deed, casting the net of the gospel in their everyday lives.
