"Ephraim is joined to idols. Let him alone" Jeremiah warns us that the heart is deceitful. We see three charges concerning Israel - divination, idolatry and sexual promiscuity. The Lord also focuses on the men as the heads of the home.
God's covenant people were no longer loyal to the covenant of God. We too must be careful to put nothing in the place of God.
