Does The Church Structure Need To Be Updated?
Series Belgic Confession 30
Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ:
John Locke (1632-1704) and Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) posited that everyone had a right to life, liberty, and property, but that man had to give up some of those rights to the civil government which would oversee and protect us. (Social contract theory.)
They were the fathers of modern liberalism and fathers of The Enlightenment.
They promoted pure democracy where men were the sole arbiters of right and wrong.
No wonder people reject God more and more today. The people want to be gods.
Karl Marx (1818-1883) believed, under capitalism, workers would become poorer and poorer.
So Marx called for a workers' revolution where the proletarians would rise up against the bourgeoisie, overthrowing capitalism.
He then proposed things be divided equally.
He rejected religion, calling it the "opium" of the people.
Again, the people acted as God and rejected the true God.
What about the church? Does the church need an updated government?
Isn't it time we have women leaders?
Isn't it time we loosen up how the church is run?
Shouldn't worship be more entertainment based so we could attract and keep the people?
Hear God's words!
Our headings are:
- Christ sets the rules
- Christ sets the rulers
- Christ sets the reasons
