Leadership for the Church

Qualifications for elders were specified by Paul in writing to Titus to guide him in making choices of men to provide leadership for the local churches on the island of Crete. The pattern established by Paul for the early church was for a plurality of elders for each local church. Elders are accountable to be faithful to the word of God as well as having a godly character displayed by godly life and lifestyle that will be an example to the people in the church they are leading.
The New Testament uses three different Greek words that identify and describe this position of leadership for the church. These are presented in this message.
