The Weight of Glory

God is fundamentally concerned with His glory and His name. In 1 Samuel 4:12-22 when the ark of God was captured by the Philistines, God's glory among the Israelites was lost. The loss of the ark of God somewhat symbolized the Israelites' loss of intimacy with God, the loss of hope, and the loss of favor with God. As Christians we seek glory for our lives--not by glorifying ourselves, but by glorifying Christ.
