GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE
TEXT: Hebrews 12:15-29

SUMMARY: Just as the nature of God makes His judgment upon sin and sinners necessary, the nature of God’s rebellious creatures makes the very idea of God’s judgment intolerable.

I. THE NATURE OF GOD MAKES JUDGMENT ON SIN NECESSARY.
A. Judgment is Bound Up in God’s Eternal Nature.
B. Judgment Assumes God’s Ability to Carry it Out.
C. Judgment is Represented by Fire.

II. THE NATURE OF SINNERS MAKES THE IDEA OF GOD’S JUDGMENT INTOLERABLE.
A. Satan Resists God’s Right to Judge as He Pleases.
B. Man Resists God’s Right to Judge as He Pleases.
