Receiving & Standing in the Gospel

The gospel is not only presented, it must also be "received." But the evangelist does not have the power to make anyone receive it. Nor does the hearer have the power (in and of themselves) to receive it. Through regeneration, the Lord Himself opens the sinner's heart and grants life. Once the sinner is truly born again, they will "stand" in the gospel by persevering in the Spirit's power.
