We Are Not Saved

Israel trusted in promises they did not understand and trusted prophets who assured them falsely that they were safe. When they suffered the judgment that the Lord warned them of, they were dismayed, but suffered the judgment threatened. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet both lamented the sad plight of the disobedient people but also fled in disgust the sins that brought the judgment on them. We must learn the lesson that we must immerse ourselves in the Word of God and submit to His work for and in us.
