A Sign, a Whistle, and a Shave

In context, the Isaiah sign of the virgin birth can seem confusing. However, when taken with the understanding that Ahaz has just refused to trust in God marking a turning point in the house of David, the sign demonstrates both judgment and hope. God's presence will bring judgment on his foes and on those among His people who fail to trust in Him yet hope to the remnant.
