Mystery Babylon, Part Three: The Great City
Series Revelation
Interpreting the Revelation takes wisdom from God (v. 9). The mystery, however, is explained (v. 17). There are two competing kingdoms–the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of God. Revelation explains how the kingdom of God triumphs over Satan's stolen and wicked empire.
The harlot is the wicked worldly philosophy the governs Satan's kingdom. God has put it into the hearts of the beast kingdom to kill the woman.
It is my conclusion that the city involved is Jerusalem (v. 18 cf. 11:8).
