01: Why Pray 24 Hours?

The first hour to begin the 24-hour prayer meeting held on the campus of BJU. I try to answer the question of "Why a 24-hour prayer meeting?" Here are some reasons I give:

• We live in a busy world
• We live in a distracted world
• We live in a careless world
• We live in a convenient world

24 hours also can be useful to bring attention to a crisis—in our case, a spiritual crisis involving the absence of youth, if not in body, but in spirit. And the need for desperation in prayer. I finish the meditation with a challenge to take baby steps in weaning ourselves from the addictive nature of our devices.
