Three Trees. Three Choices. One Eternity.

Three Trees. Three Choices. One Eternity. This Sunday night, we were challenged to look at three biblical locations — and three powerful choices — that ultimately point to one eternal outcome. At Moreh (Genesis 12:6 KJV), Abram stood in a land occupied by the Canaanites. The culture around him did not honor God. Faith was not popular. Yet Abram chose to believe God anyway. The land may have been uncertain, but heaven was not. The Canaanite was in the land — but God was still on the throne. Moreh reminds us that faith is often chosen in uncomfortable places, when circumstances do not look favorable. At Mamre (Genesis 14:13 KJV), Abram was described as dwelling by the oaks. Here we see something deeper than a moment of belief — we see covenant. Abram was planted. Identified. Committed. He was not drifting; he was rooted. Mamre represents the decision to remain — to be grounded in covenant relationship with God and to live with spiritual stability and identity. But at Bashan (Isaiah 2:13; Ezekiel 27:6 KJV), we see a different story. The towering cedars and mighty oaks symbolize pride, strength, beauty, and human achievement. Men trusted what looked impressive. They trusted power that seemed unshakable. Yet Scripture reminds us that every tree that is high and lifted up will fall. Pride collapses. Empires crumble. Strength fades. What stands tall today will not survive eternity without God.The message pressed a personal question upon every heart:Where are you standing? Are you at Moreh — needing to choose faith when it's not popular? Are you at Mamre — needing to deepen your covenant and commitment?Or are you near Bashan — trusting in strength that will not endure?
