Parables: Are you understanding Jesus, yet?

We often err in thinking about the parables as "earthly stories illustrating heavenly realities." The fact is that the parables are quite subversive. They accomplish the truth that Jesus sets out in them: some hearers will get hardened to Christ, and others will be softened to Him and bear much fruit.
