Divine Assistance

Is God obligated to give us whatever we ask for? Should we seek God for things, or for Him to seperate us for His use? Can we ask the Lord to deliver us from service to anyone or anything other than Him? The desire to love people that aren't like me or, the desire to love people that don't like me is other worldly. Where can I logically expect to get those desires? Do you think God will give us those things He's already stated we're to operate in? What about the things He's stated we are to be?
