Let The Nations Be Glad
Series Psalm
Genesis 12:1–3, Numbers 6:22–27, and Psalm 67 together are deeply important for understanding the Bible's global redemptive theme captured in the phrase "Let The Nations Be Glad," because they reveal that God's saving purpose has always extended beyond one people to all nations. In Book of Genesis 12:1–3, God promises Abraham that through his offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed, establishing a missionary trajectory at the very start of the covenant story. In Book of Numbers 6:22–27, the priestly blessing asks that God's face shine upon His people—implying not only their favor but their calling to reflect His name to the world. This outward-looking purpose becomes explicit in Book of Psalms 67, which links God's blessing on His people with the spread of His saving ways among all nations, leading to worldwide joy and worship. Together these passages show that God blesses His people so that His glory, salvation, and praise will spread globally, grounding the Church's mission and hope in God's own stated plan.
