Paul Testifies Before Agrippa II (Pt 4)

This class reviews the key theological themes which Paul preached to Agrippa II showing how profound they are. The theology Paul preached to this secular king is central to the truths of Biblical Christianity. We make an application to the seeker movement in evangelicalism which claims that theology should not be preached to the church if we want to have church growth.

Typical religious consumers are not interested in theology and so not see it as relevant. Yet Paul saw it as so essential he preached key theological truths to a pagan king. We then trace these same truths through Luke/Acts starting early in Luke.

Going from light to darkness was spoken by the father of John the Baptist in Luke 1:78-79. Repentance is also taught throughout Luke/Acts. Forgiveness of sins, sanctification, and serving God with diligence through changed lives are also taught. Paul preached these truths to Agrippa without fear or shame.

Therefore, those who claim to be evangelical should do so as well. This class continues to lay out the narrative unity of Luke/Acts. The fact is that the church is always growing every time God adds someone to the church through conversion.
