When the Earth Preaches

When the Earth Preaches.Matthew 24:7–8 (KJV) In a world increasingly marked by instability, conflict, and natural upheaval, Jesus warned that earthquakes in diverse places would signal "the beginning of sorrows." These shakings are not random accidents of history—they are reminders that creation itself is groaning under the weight of sin and awaiting redemption.First, the earth is groaning. The disorder we see in nature reflects a world out of alignment with its Creator. Earthquakes, wars, and turmoil are signs that this present system is broken and cannot sustain itself apart from God.Second, the warning is merciful. God speaks before judgment falls. The shaking of the earth is not meant to entertain us or be dismissed, but to awaken us. These signs are acts of grace, calling humanity to attention before it is too late. Finally, the choice is personal. Every warning demands a response. Christ's words leave no neutral ground—each person must decide whether to repent and turn to God, or ignore the signs and perish in unbelief. When the earth preaches, the question is not whether God is speaking, but whether we are listening.
