Mystery Babylon, Part One, Backgrount

The question is who is Babylon, this mother of harlots and abominations of the earth? It is a city or cities. It is referred to as the great city (Gen. 10:12,; 11:4, cf. Jonah 1:2; Dan. 4:30; Rev. 11:8; 16:19; 17:18; 18:10, 16-21) Babylon represents a reglio-political system that persecutes the followers of the true King, Jesus, promotes self glory and deification of royalty, deceiving and oppressing the people.

This is the system that Jesus is conquering and destroying through the church and the gospel.
