While love is a beautiful thing, the description of love in this chapter is actually a correction to a church that had become very unloving. Biblical love is the mark of true spirituality. If the love is lacking, then so is the claimed spirituality and piety. The spiritual gifts will either cease or be done away, but love will abide forever.
