Standing between the dead and the living

Can you see Aaron there, with his censer in his hand, standing there all alone...Standing between the dead and the living.
Death is around him. The plague is moving. The people are dying. Rebellion has had its payday.
Yet there he stands, with the ordained incense, with the fire from the altar, in the position that only he could fill….
Aaron was the High Priest, who offered in behalf of the people. Who did for them what they couldn’t do for themselves!?
So is our Christ.
