Israel's Place In the Plan of God

The nation of Israel is unique in the plan of God being the only nation chosen by God and with whom He initiated and entered into an unconditional covenantal relationship. The focus of God's activity in carrying forward His plan for the nation broke off at the first coming of Jesus Christ and will resume at a divinely determined time in the future. The prophet Daniel was given a revelation of God's plan and purposes with a timeline often referred to as the 'seventy weeks' which awaits the culmination of the last week and the return of Jesus Christ to earth at His second coming. Prophecies fulfilled in the past exactly as God had foretold give insight into understanding how those yet to be fulfilled should be anticipated.
