A Birth to Celebrate

I. Acts 17 – A birth takes place
We can see the apostle’s method
A. He goes to a key city.

B. He goes to the synagogue, i. e., to those most who are
natural contacts, v. 2

  C. The apostle reasons with them, vv. 2 & 3

  D. He reasons from the Bible, v. 2

II. This was a premature birth
A. v. 2 – only 3 Sabbaths

  B. Forced to leave because of opposition

I Thessalonians 2:2 --

III. How did this birth take place? “Gospel boldness”
A. Boldness from God, v. 2:2, Acts 17:10 --

B. The heart of their message, Acts 17: 3 – Jesus Christ ‘s
sufferings and death, resurrection, the awaited Messiah

IV. This new church needs
A. v. 1:1 – this letter is from spiritual parents to
spiritual children

  B. It gives instruction in spiritual basics
