The Pressure of Trials_01
Series Pressure Points(James)
The Pressure of Trials. James 1:1-4 Some days life feels like a giant pressure cooker. We can feel pressure from a myriad of directions: pressure from society, pressure from Satan, pressure from friends, pressure from our sin nature, and even pressure from our own emotions. The easy course is to just open whatever valve will release the pressure, but too often that valve spews the pent-up steam of harsh words and inappropriate actions on whoever is near us. Joyful trust in God will get you through any trial.Choose a Joyful Attitude. Believers can expect trials; they are not exempt.Believers can face trials with an attitude of joy because of the potential they provide for God to work good.Trust God's Loving Heart. The trials of life are a means whereby our faith is tested for authenticity.Endurance or steadfastness of faith is acquired by going through trying times.Knowing and understanding that the Lord works in various trials helps believers respond to them with joy.Reach the Goal. The goal of spiritual endurance is spiritual maturity. All aspects of the believer's life are to be given to the Lord. The Book of James offers understanding of those pressure points and the proper valves to use to keep those pressures from ruining our lives and the lives of those around us.
