Overcoming Prejudice

Everyone is prone to judge other people based on outward appearance or their presumed characteristics, rather than to seek to reserve judgment until they know the person. Prejudice can be defined as forming an adverse opinion or judgment of another that is not only unfair, but devoid of factual information. Indeed, prejudice stems from an irrational suspicion and/or hatred of a group and, by inclusion everyone who is a part of that group by choice or by birth, based on their negative opinion of the group. Moreover, they make this pre-judgment with little or no evidence specific to the person or persons involved. In this section we look at how God revealed to the Apostle Peter bis prejudice and how the Holy Spirit worked within Peter to reject his predisposition to reach people he would have never known had he continued to adhere to his previous way of thinking about people "different" from him.
