Justification Explained

The doctrine of justification by grace alone, through faith alone, by Christ alone is under attack today. The liberals have been attacking it, from before the time of J. Gresham Machen. However, in our day, we have those who claim to be "reformed" that are seeking to redefine this vital doctrine, upon which, as Luther says, the church will stand or fall.

Pastor Jeff takes to task the increasingly popular view of "covenant faithfulness".

Pastor Jeff gives a succinct but profitable overview of this vital doctrine! Using the publican and the pharisee as the text, Pastor Jeff defends the historic, reformed view of justification.

  1. It is possible for one to be completely justified before God.

  2. Justification is not something that men can do for themselves, but it is the work of God alone, for those He has chosen to justify.

  3. Justification is by faith alone and not by or through any other means.

  4. Justification is a once and for all work that God accomplishes for guilty sinners and not a process that sinners must go through or cooperate with in order for it to be completed.
