The Comprehensive Jesus

If we think of Jesus as being anything less than the comprehensive Lord of all, our view of him is far too small. But how do we know what we really believe about him? How do we know if we really trust him -- if we've really surrendered our lives to the Lordship of Christ?

At the end of Mark 12 are two contrasting stories that illustrate total surrender TO self versus total surrender OF self. Jesus exhorts us to turn from selfish pretense by embracing his total Lordship. This surrender and trust sets us free to be unselfish, radically generous people, who are beginning to learn to give as Christ himself gave.
