God's Covenant from Moses to David
Series The Covenant of Grace
I. A Review of the Covenant from Adam to Moses
II. The Covenant and Moses
The ceremonial laws were designed to show us Christ by types and shadows. They exist primarily to speak of Him and secondarily as a means of separating from the world a people unto Himself.
The civil laws were to bring peace and order to the covenant society, and so there would be a society prepared for the coming of Messiah.
The Mosaic Covenant in all its ceremonial aspects was never meant to be permanent. IT was purposefully temporary, until the coming of Messiah, who would and did bring in the realities of the New Covenant.
