The Kinsman-Redeemer's Work

Here, we come to the culmination of the work of Boaz as kinsman-redeemer to Ruth and Naomi. He is willing to pay the price for the redemption. He pays it with joy. He takes all the steps necessary to make sure it can never be challenged.

Then the people present in the court, along with the elders, give their blessing to this new family; to Boaz, who has kept the family name of Elimelech from disappearing from the roles of Israel; and to Ruth and Naomi. They pray that Boaz and Ruth will be like the house of Perez, who built up the nation. God has fulfilled much of that blessing, and there is still even more to come.

Then there is this matter of the genealogy that is listed in the final portion of this record. We'll look into it and into that which came of it.
