Christ in All of Scripture

No one, no matter how much he studies the Word of God, will make any good sense of it unless they first realize that Jesus Christ is the great interest and fulfillment of all that holy men wrote about through the Holy Spirit in Scripture. But having that knowledge, you have all of the help you need to understand the will of God for your salvation; you have Christ the risen Lord as your prophet, revealing His Word to you by His Spirit, whom Jesus sends to those who believe in Him. And having the resident Holy Spirit, you have the able counselor and first author of all Scripture—no wonder that the Christian grows in grace and in the true knowledge of God our Savior.
