Text: Nehemiah 1:1-2:20 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: When Nehemiah heard the news that Jerusalem's walls were still in ruins, he was devastated. Although on the other side of the Persian empire, he was still zealous for God's city and God's people. That zeal led Nehemiah to do two things which are instructive for us. First, he prioritized prayer, seeking God's mercy and grace on behalf of his people. Second, he prepared for action, requesting leave from the king to go back to his home to do what he could to rebuild the city. God's people today are likewise called to foster proper zeal for God's glory, prioritize prayer over all things, and prepare for action in every opportunity we are given.
