Encouragement in the Midst of Despair

We begin this week by considering the mindset of the people who first heard Zechariah’s instruction—those who had come back to Judah following 70 years of captivity in Babylon. These Old Testament believers were in need of exhortation to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, in accord with the commands of God and the prophecies given earlier.
We’re going to learn about some mysterious, miraculous visions that Zechariah received containing messages to deliver to God’s people.
