The Father of Faith

Stumbling blindly into the dark would be what most people today would call Abraham's life. Over and above all of the other challenges he was called to face, he even faced the sacrifice of his only son, through whom God had promised to make him a great nation.

Yet the difference between what Abraham did and what any other individual with an adventurous spirit would do, is vast. Abraham was in the act of believing God. He was walking by faith. He was moving in a direction. He was being obedient even though he couldn't see where that obedience would lead him.

This is not stumbling in the dark, it is a demonstration of Christian character, built on God-given faith. This message is a challenging call to refresh your own personal faith. Rather than remaining in Ur, are you willing to step into the darkness, illuminated only by true saving faith?
