Commitment to the Local Church

God never intends any Christian to be an independent entity and follow their own subjective leading, exclusively, as it regards whether you will join a church or not. He expects that you will join a local church. But He wants you to do this freely. And He expects that you will prayerfully come to this righteous conclusion; that you will make your decisions and make your plans by taking counsel with Him in His word, and He will then direct you. He has, in saving you, given you the spiritual freedom to make wise choices in accordance with all the teaching of his word. But He does not expect that you will live simply for yourself, or for the worldly considerations of what pleases you personally, that may often come to your mind. Christ would have you to see that you are a part of His Church, and that you now have something give to Him and to other Christians. He wants you to give the Triune God glory and praise by your regular attendance in the services of worship in a local church.
