Liberated Women

In chapter 11, Paul begins to address another area of impropriety among the Corinthians: the conduct of women of the flock in public worship. It appears that some women, perhaps excited with their status as equal participants in the church of Christ, were choosing to put off the veil, which was the recognized symbol of submission in their culture, and they were presuming to pray and prophesy with uncovered heads in the worship services. This message develops the passage and attempts to make application to our culture. In the process, it deals with issues of creation, of headship, and of the current blurring of the roles God has given to males and females.
