Joy for the Nations Begins
Series Advent 2007
The infant Jesus was better greeted by Gentiles who could read the stars than by Israel who could read the Scriptures. However, God, whose message would be preached to all nations, alerted his people to his coming Shepherd by these wise men. The malice of Herod is contrasted with the joy and generosity and open-ness to God's leading shown by these men who found the One born to be King.
