Qualifications of Elders, Part 2

In 1 Tim 3:1-7, Paul gives 16 characteristics of an Elder (or Pastor), grouped by the Elder's desire (v1), positive characteristics (v2), negative characteristics (v3), family (vv4-5), experience (v6), and reputation (v7).

In this second of two sermons on these qualifications, the second eight charactistics are covered. A man who would be a Shepherd of the church of God must not be given to wine, violent, quarrelsome, or covetous, but must be gentle, able to rule his family well, experienced, and with a good reputation among those outside the church.
