Sanctification (revised)

Christian, are you holy or not? You hesitate to answer because although you know that you are "positionally holy", (set apart/ clothed in Christ's righteousness) you may not consider yourself to be "practically holy," or holy in practice. Justification is an act of a judge. It is immediate and once for all. But the moment the judge makes his declaration, the work of the teacher begins. It is the work of the teacher that this message considers. As theologian R. L. Dabney put it: "Christ's blood cleanses us from the GUILT of sin, but sin carries with it, not only guilt, but POLLUTION. Christ's Spirit cleanses us from the POLLUTION of sin."
