Colossians 3:18-21 - Marriage and Family: Foundations of Submission and the Gospel

In Col 3:18-4:1, Paul gets truly practical in his teaching on how to live the Christian life by giving simple instructions about the most basic activities of life: the relationships within marriage, family, and the workplace.

In this first sermon in a series on the biblical marriage and family, we look at two foundational truths: the necessity of submission and God's purpose for marriage, from the beginning, to show forth Christ and the Gospel.

Christ is the example of both loving headship (over His bride, the Church) and loving submission (to His Father). And the marriage relationship is to be a vivid picture of the Gospel, showing forth the loving relationship between Christ and the Church.
