THE FIRST COMMANDMENT

1. What does He command us?

2. Why does He command us this?

A. To worship is to consider something worthy of our trust & service (worth-ship)

B. Worship becomes idolatry when we define our well-being from things apart from God

C. God commands us in 1st that we would honor and love Him as the only God

D. God commands us to flee – avoid – reject any other “gods”

CLOSING THOUGHTS:

A. God deeply cares for every aspect of you

B. God will not be slack to destroy you if you forsake Him (Deut. 8:20)

C. God will certainly bless us when we have respect to all His statutes!
