Roles of Men and Women in the Church

What are our roles as men and women in the church?

(1) The unity in our roles (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-11; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; Gal. 3:26-29; 5:13-25; Eph. 4:11-13; 2 Tim. 2:1-2; Titus 2:3-5; Heb. 10:24-25; 1 Pet. 2:9; 4:10-11).

To make, mature, and multiply followers of Jesus (to help them know & follow Him).

(2) The difference in our roles (Gen. 1:26-27; 2:16-21; 1 Cor. 11:3; 1 Tim. 2:11-14; 3:1-10; 2 Tim. 1:5; 2:1-2; 3:14-15; Titus 1:5-9; 2:3-5, 10; 1 Pet. 5:1-5; Heb. 13:17).

Qualified, Christ-like men (elders/pastors/shepherds) are responsible for the leadership and care for the church.

Women (and men) are to willingly place themselves under their leadership and are to support in helping care for the church.

Truth to Remember:
When we embrace the roles God's given us as men and women in Jesus' Church, we express the beauty and breadth of His person and work.
