A Call to Every Church

In the Book of Philippians Paul wants the Christians at Philippi to live like Heavenly Citizens.

I believe that there should be notable differences in Christians compared to people who don’t know Christ.

Jesus said:… My kingdom is not of this world. John 18.36

As a citizen of Heaven our Focus and our behaviour should be different from the citizens of the World.

Is there something about you that tells others that you live for another Kingdom?

Now in Chapter 4 When Paul writes to the Philippians he calls them his beloved as well as his Joy and his crown.

Paul loved the Church there and we should love the Church here.

To hear of the Church that he started in Philippi continuing on would have brought great joy to Paul.

Paul also says that the Philippians are his crown.

Paul knew that part of his joy on earth and in Heaven and part of his reward in Heaven were other people.

Do you know that part of the Joy we will have in Heaven is other people?

We are to use the wealth that we have on earth to make friends in Heaven.

Paul tells the Philippians to Stand Fast in verse 1. They had to stand fast not in their own strength but in the strength of the Lord God.

You know it can be really tempting in the Christian life to go on in your own strength but we must depend every day on the Lord for the strength we need.

A Call to Peace

I implore Euodia yoo-OH-dih-uh) and I implore Syntyche (SIN-tih-kee), to be of the same mind in the Lord. (Phil 4.2 NKJV )
I don’t think that these 2 ladies would have thought that their differences would have been read about nearly 2000 years later than when they first fought.
