Fellowship with Failures
Series Gospel of Mark
Many religious groups teach that sin is basically the bad/worldly stuff that bad/worldly people do. Their "solution" is to withdraw from the world to live separated lives away from "sinners" and sinful influences.
That is an inadequate, unbiblical view of the location and nature of sin. Sin is universal - it's in every human heart - and it cuts much deeper than that bad things we do. All sin is rooted in unbelief and the underlying problem of disloyalty to Jesus.
This context also shows us our two-fold hope: learning to find Jesus beautiful because his mercy offers forgiveness and cleansing from sin.
