It is amusing how our emotions are so often affected by what someone else does. Your whole attitude toward the congregation can be affected. As you drive into the parking lot, suppose someone whips in front of you and takes your parking place. Does it make you grind on the inside? Does it ruin your whole day? Then you ask yourself, What kind of Christians are these? They ought to know I've been parking there every Sunday! Then you come into the church and, to top it all off, someone is sitting in your seat! It's one thing after another. If we aren't careful, we begin to think about how people are treating us rather than how we can contribute to their growth and development. We so often come expecting to receive something. But we ought to come in love expecting to contribute something of ourselves to what God is doing in other people's lives.
