Christ and the Law

When describing something (person, country, institution, law) which seems threatening & powerful but is actually weak or harmless, we refer to it as a “Paper Tiger.” If something (person, country, institution, law) has power and authority we say it has teeth. Is the law of God a paper tiger or does it have teeth? Was Jesus an antinomian? Or was He a legalist? Matthew 5:17-20, is the most comprehensive statement in the Bible concerning what Christ teaches about the law.
