The Fruit of the Word of God

Paul says in this passage that one of the great aims of the Christian ministry is that through the preaching of the Word we would have a settled conviction about Christ. He would be our all in all. Christ loves His church and will nourish her as she seeks Him in the Word, for He is not found by visions or dreams, but in the Word. And so, this sermon seeks to show how Paul wants us to be assured of a knowledge that affects both the heart and the will, as well as the mind, and that we must always stretch out for it, strive for it, long for it, and pray for it.
